Everything You Need To Know About Capital One Lounges

Over five billion people will pass through airports in 2025, according to a recent IATA study, which means that finding a respite from crowds will be more important than ever. Airport lounges provide a soft space to land before takeoff, and the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is one of the best cards for lounge access on the market.
Among the Capital One Venture X benefits is entry into over 1,300 lounges worldwide (after enrollment), and the crown jewels are the Capital One Lounges at key U.S. airports. Capital One’s lounge network is small but mighty. As opposed to blanketing the planet with lounges, Capital One has chosen to selectively cover a few strategic markets, some with locations in sister airports.
What Is a Capital One Lounge?
Capital One Lounges give guests a space to relax before their flight or during a layover. The lounges provide local food and drink options in addition to comforts like charging ports and workspaces.
The design of each lounge is unique and offers a nod to its home airport, but in a subtle way. For instance, in Las Vegas (LAS), the color palette and artwork lean into the desert landscape to provide a calm setting that stands in stark contrast to Sin City’s neon and excess.
One thing I really appreciate about Capital One Lounge food is that it’s served in individual bite-sized portions rather than doled out in cafeteria-style pans like other lounges. The plating helps keep food both fresh and sanitary.
Capital One Lounges have another feature that other lounges lack: an extensive selection of grab-and-go options. I fly out of Washington Dulles (IAD) frequently and love popping in for a quick chai latte, a homemade pop-tart and a veggie wrap to enjoy on the flight.
In Washington National Airport (DCA), the lounge concept is taken to the next level with the Capital One Landing. Formed in partnership with José Andrés, the Landing is a restaurant-style concept with hosted seating and tapas served tableside. Unfortunately, grab-and-go isn’t free at the Landing location. The “On-the-Fly” portion of the Washington National location is public space, so items are only available for sale. Venture X cardholders do get half off, though.

How To Get Access to Capital One Lounges
The easiest way to access Capital One Lounges is via a Venture X credit card.
Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card
The Venture X earns a top spot on our best Capital One credit cards list for a reason. The Venture X annual fee is $395, but the card offers both a $300 annual Capital One Travel credit and 10,000 anniversary bonus miles, which effectively offset the annual fee. The card earns 2x miles on all purchases (10x Capital One miles on hotels and rental cars and 5x on flights and vacation rentals booked via Capital One Travel), which can be redeemed at 1 cent per mile toward travel purchases or transferred to close to 20 travel partners.
Capital One Venture X has a unique feature that multiplies the guest access policy for Capital One Lounges and Landings. The stated guest access policy is that Venture X cardholders can bring two guests into Lounges and one guest into Landing locations.
The Capital One Venture X Business will also get primary cardholders unlimited entry into the lounges along with two guests for Capital One Lounges and one guest into Capital One Landings.
Note: Effective Feb. 1, 2026, Capital One Venture X airport lounge access rules for guests and authorized users will change.
Venture Card and Capital One Spark Miles for Business
If you have a Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card or Capital One Spark Miles for Businesss and want a taste of what Capital One Lounges and Landings have to offer, you can step inside for a discounted rate of $45. Even non-Capital One customers can try out the experience for the steep price of $90, which I wouldn’t recommend.
Can You Bring Guests Into The Capital One Lounge?
The answer is an emphatic yes, but it’s even better than that. Cardholders can bring two guests into the lounge and one into the Landing, but remember that each account can have up to five cardholders, each with access and guesting privileges. So in effect, one Venture X account could get up to fifteen people into a Capital One lounge.
Note that this only applies to the personal version of the card. Capital One Venture X Business confers lounge access only on the primary account holder.

Other Lounges for Venture X Rewards Credit Card Holders
If you’re not passing through an airport with a Capital One Lounge, you’re not out of luck. The Capital One Global Lounge Network has over 1,300 locations through its partnership with Priority Pass (enrollment required).
Venture X cardholders are eligible to register for a free Priority Pass membership. You can enroll on the Capital One mobile app. Note that it does take a few days to receive your membership card, so be sure to sign up as soon as you open your Venture X card account.
One thing to keep in mind when you’re traveling through an airport with a Priority Pass lounge: the program has become a victim of its own success. Many premium travel cards, including The Platinum Card® from American Express (an advertising partner) and the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, also offer Priority Pass memberships. Recently, I saw a line over 50 people deep at the Turkish Airlines lounge in Miami (MIA), the only Priority Pass option in that terminal.
