JetBlue’s TrueBlue loyalty program rewards you every time you fly, spend on a co-branded JetBlue airline credit card and more. Earning enough points and “tiles” gets you Mosaic status, which comes with a ton of benefits such as priority boarding, free bags and upgrade opportunities.

What Is JetBlue’s Loyalty Program?
JetBlue’s loyalty program, TrueBlue, allows travelers to earn and redeem points for flights and JetBlue vacation packages. If you spend enough on the airline, you can earn Mosaic status, the elite tier that elevates your travel experience with perks like priority boarding and free checked bags.
How Does the JetBlue Loyalty Program Work?
TrueBlue works on two main, and distinct, currencies:
- TrueBlue points: Earned through flights, partner activity and purchases. TrueBlue points can be used for award travel and other redemptions.
- Tiles: Earned by spending on JetBlue flights, vacations, extras and qualifying credit card spend. Once you hit enough tiles in a calendar year, you unlock a new Mosaic tier.
You earn tiles by spending on JetBlue flights and related travel products. You can earn 1 tile for $100 in qualifying spend on JetBlue travel (such as flights, most extras and fees, JetBlue Vacations and TrueBlue Travel), and 1 tile for $1,000 in eligible spend on any JetBlue co-branded card.
Tiles level up your elite status, and the more tiles you earn, the higher your status goes. Once you reach Mosaic, you’ll keep your status through the rest of the year you earned it and into the next calendar year. This is a relatively new change: JetBlue recently extended Tile qualifications through Jan. 31 each year.
JetBlue Mosaic Status Levels and Tiers
Mosaic has four levels, which are each unlocked by earning more tiles. As you move up, you stack more benefits on top of the perks from the previous tiers.
After hitting Mosaic 1 status (the lowest tier) for the first time last year, I was immediately impressed by how my travel improved. Having a free checked bag meant that I could bring more on my weeklong trip to Los Angeles, and being able to switch my ticket on the same day meant that I could spend more time with friends in the city.
Mosaic 1
Mosaic 1 status requires 50 tiles in a calendar year. With this status, you’ll receive the following benefits:
- Free checked bag for you and any travel companions on the same reservation
- Free in-flight alcoholic drink
- Free same-day flight switches (except Blue Basic)
- Free EvenMore seat selection at check-in, pending availability (excluding Blue Basic)
- Free extra legroom or preferred seating, pending availability (excluding Blue Basic)
- Mosaic boarding and priority security
- Dedicated check-in and customer service
- 3x points on JetBlue-operated flights
- Complimentary Heathrow Express upgrade
- Avis Status Match
Mosaic 2
You’ll need 100 tiles to move up to Mosaic 2 status, where you’ll receive the following:
- All Mosaic 1 perks
- Two free checked bags
- Complimentary EvenMore seat selection at booking (depending on availability), excluding Blue Basic fares
Mosaic 3
Mosaic 3 requires 150 tiles and includes the following:
- All perks from Mosaic 1 and 2
- Complimentary EvenMore seat selection at booking (excluding Blue Basic)
- Four Move to Mint certificates
- Customer service for Mosaic 3 and 4 members
- 4x points on all JetBlue-operated flights
Mosaic 4
The top-tier Mosaic 4 status requires 250 tiles in a calendar year. It comes with the following benefits:
- All perks from lower tiers
- Four more Move to Mint certificates
- Two additional Move to Mint certificates for every additional 100 tiles earned
- The ability to gift Mosaic 1 status to the TrueBlue member of your choice
- 5x points on all JetBlue-operated flights
- Complimentary entry to JetBlue BlueHouse lounges for you and an eligible travel companion (not included on Blue Basic bookings)
How To Earn Points With JetBlue
The most common way to earn TrueBlue points is by flying on JetBlue-operated flights, where points are earned based on the cost of your ticket and fare class. Blue Basic (basic economy) tickets will earn fewer points than a regular ticket, for instance.
You can also earn points by booking packages through JetBlue Vacations, including flight-and-hotel or flight-and-car bundles. Using a JetBlue co-branded credit card is another way to earn points on both JetBlue purchases and everyday spending.
Several flexible bank loyalty programs also allow you to transfer points to the airline, including American Express Membership Rewards®, Chase Ultimate Rewards®, Citi ThankYou® and Capital One miles. So, for example, when you’re ready to book an award flight, you could transfer Ultimate Rewards points from the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card to JetBlue TrueBlue.
How To Redeem Points with JetBlue
JetBlue TrueBlue points are pretty straightforward to use, which is one of the reasons the program works well for both casual and frequent flyers. There’s no traditional award chart to memorize, no blackout dates to work around and no confusing zones. Instead, JetBlue ties point redemptions closely to the cash price of a flight. The higher the cash price, the more you’ll typically pay with TrueBlue points.
You can redeem TrueBlue points in several ways:
- On flights (either entirely with points, or using Cash + Points, which lets you offset part of the fare with points and pay the rest in cash)
- On JetBlue Vacations, which bundles flights with hotels, rental cars or activities
- On TrueBlue Travel deals, you can redeem your points for hotels and car rentals when you book with TrueBlue Travel
- On other airlines, such as United, Qatar and Etihad
TrueBlue points do not expire, giving you the flexibility to save them for when you actually want to use them.
Is JetBlue Status Worth It?
JetBlue Mosaic status comes with perks such as the ability to secure better seats, upgrades and priority services. Ultimately, it depends on how much you fly JetBlue and what perks you value most.
Mosaic status can significantly reduce travel stress if you fly JetBlue regularly. Even as an occasional JetBlue traveler, Mosaic status might still be worth it if you value perks like free checked bags and priority services. Finally, families can also benefit from status. JetBlue recently introduced Family Tiles, where tiles earned by your kids under 12 count toward your Mosaic status, which makes it easier for families to reach status.
