Chase Ultimate Rewards® is perhaps one of the most versatile rewards programs out there. Several Chase credit cards allow you to earn Ultimate Rewards points, which you can use to book flights, hotel stays, rental cars and activities, as well as redeem for gift cards or exchanged for cash.

However, the best and most rewarding way to use Ultimate Rewards points is by transferring them to Chase’s airline and hotel partners. Here’s what to know about Chase transfer partners, which cards allow you to convert Chase points, and how to make the most of your rewards.

Chase Ultimate Rewards partners with over a dozen airline and hotel loyalty programs to which you can transfer your points. Through these programs, you can fly or stay almost anywhere in the world. All transfers to partners are at a one-to-one ratio, with a 1,000-point minimum and in increments of 1,000 points.

Most transfers occur within one business day, but occasionally they may take up to seven business days.

Not all Chase credit cards that earn Ultimate Rewards allow points transfers. You’ll need one of the following travel credit cards to unlock access to Chase’s partners:

If you also have a no-annual-fee Ultimate Rewards card, such as the Chase Freedom Unlimited® or Chase Freedom Flex®, you can pool all of your points in your premium card account and make them transferable to travel partners.

Transferring your Ultimate Rewards points to partners is easy to do online through your Chase account. Once you’re logged in to the Ultimate Rewards portal, head to the travel section and click on “Transfer points to partners.”

You will be shown the full list of Chase’s travel transfer partners, starting with those that currently offer a bonus for that transfer, if there are any. Clicking on any of the listed partners will display further information.

To transfer points, you must have an existing account in the partner loyalty program, but if you don’t currently have one, you’ll find a link to create one on each partner section.

Once you’ve chosen your transfer partner, click “Transfer Points” to start the process.

Step 1

You’ll be prompted to enter your loyalty program number if this is your first time transferring to that account, but once you’ve done this, the system will retain your linked accounts for future transfers. Then, click “Next.”

Step 2

Enter the number of Chase Ultimate Rewards points you want to transfer in increments of 1,000. Then, click “Next.”

Step 3

You will be asked to review your transfer details before moving forward. The screen shows your points being transferred from your Chase account to the partner loyalty program account, and what your resulting Ultimate Rewards balance will be after it’s gone through. If everything looks good, click “Submit” to finalize the transfer.

Be sure the name on your Chase account matches the name on the loyalty program account you’re transferring to. Otherwise, your transfer may not go through.

There are a few ways to maximize your rewards when it comes to either earning more Chase points or redeeming your points more efficiently:

  • Bonus earning categories: Each Chase card offers elevated earning rates in specific spending categories. By using the right credit card for your purchase, you could earn significantly more points without spending any extra money. For example, the Chase Sapphire Reserve earns 4 points for every dollar spent on flights and hotels booked directly, so by using this card for these travel purchases, you’re getting closer to your next trip much faster.
  • Transfer bonuses: Chase periodically runs promotions where the transfer ratio to certain partners is bumped up in your favor, helping your Ultimate Rewards points take you further. For example, we’ve recently seen a 20% transfer bonus to Air Canada Aeroplan (1,000 Ultimate Rewards points becomes 1,200 Aeroplan points), as well as a Marriott Bonvoy 65% transfer bonus (1,000 Ultimate Rewards points becomes 1,650 Marriott points). These bonuses can be a great way to help you redeem fewer points for your next trip.

What is the best Chase transfer partner?

The best Chase transfer partner depends on your travel preferences. However, World of Hyatt is widely regarded as a top option because redemptions for free nights start at just 3,500 points at the most budget-friendly hotels. This means that you could spend as little as 7,000 points for a weekend getaway.

Which Chase credit cards allow transfers to partners?

While many cards let you earn Chase Ultimate Rewards, only premium cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Preferred Card allow points transfers.

What’s the best airline transfer partner for Chase Ultimate Rewards?

The best airline transfer partner for you depends on which airlines fly to your home airport and where you plan to travel. If you’re flying within the U.S., United Airlines is an easy transfer option as it has a huge route network. With that said, Air France-KLM Flying Blue and Virgin Atlantic also offer great connectivity into Europe and beyond from many major U.S. airports.

How many Chase transfer partners are there?
