Some Capital One transfer partners include:

  • Aeromexico Club Premier
  • Air Canada Aeroplan
  • Avianca LifeMiles
  • Emirates Skywards
  • Etihad Guest
  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer

Capital One mile redemptions aren’t limited to Capital One travel bookings or transfer partners. Here are some other options:

  • Cover Recent Travel Purchases (1 cent per mile): Redeem miles as a statement credit to reimburse recent travel expenses, including flights, hotels, cruises, ride-sharing services or tolls.
  • Shop Online (0.8 cents per mile): Pay for Amazon.com purchases, or use miles for eligible items at many online retailers that accept PayPal at checkout.
  • Get Gift Cards (0.8 cents per mile): Exchange miles for physical or digital gift cards from over 90 brands, including restaurants and major retailers.
  • Choose Cash Back (0.5 cents per mile): Convert miles into cash back and receive it as a statement credit or a check.

Capital One cards offer several different types of rewards, including miles and points. Capital One Miles rewards can be redeemed for travel or non-travel-related purchases, while Capital One points are much less flexible and can only be used at certain retailers and their subsidiaries.

Capital One Miles

Capital One offers three personal travel credit cards (Venture Card, Venture X and VentureOne Card) and three business cards (Venture X Business, Spark Miles and Spark Miles Select) that offer miles rewards. For the most value, miles rewards are designed to be redeemed for travel in the following ways:

  • Through Capital One Travel: 1 cent per mile.
  • Via loyalty programs of Capital One transfer partners for flights and hotel stays: Redemption values vary per partner.
  • To cover recent qualifying travel purchases: 1 cent per mile

Capital One Points

The only Capital One cards that offer points are:

  • Cabela’s CLUB Card
  • Bass Pro Shops CLUB Card
  • Bass Pro Shops
  • Cabela’s CLUB Business Mastercard

Point values are 1 cent per point and can only be redeemed for purchases at Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops and their subsidiaries.

Here are some of the best ways to get the most out of your Capital One Miles.

1. Use Travel Partners

Transferring miles to Capital One travel partners can help you access perks from other loyalty programs.

2. Book Through Capital One Travel

Redeem your miles directly in the Capital One Travel portal to book flights, hotels or rental cars. It’s easy and quick to do, and each mile is worth 1 cent.

3. Cover Travel Expenses

You can also use your miles to get reimbursed for travel purchases like flights, hotels and ride-sharing services at the rate of 1 cent per mile. This can be a great way to maximize your miles because when you pay for travel purchases with your Capital One Miles credit cards, you’ll earn bonus miles.

Bonus miles usually apply to hotel and rental car purchases, but vacation rentals and flights might also be eligible, depending on your card. For example, the Venture Card and VentureOne Card offer unlimited 5X miles when you book hotels and rental cars through the Capital One Travel portal. Additionally, the Venture Card offers 5X miles on vacation rentals.

However, the Venture X offers the most redemption options, doubling the amount for hotels and rental cars at 10X and also offering 5X on flights in addition to vacation rentals.

4. Plan Ahead

Popular destinations or premium flights often require early booking. Setting price alerts can help you lock in the best deals and get the most value from your miles. Also consider off-peak travel to save money.
