Our Critical Analysis

  • No annual fee
  • Exceptionally long intro APR period
  • Cell phone protection option

  • No rewards
  • There is a foreign transaction fee so it’s not the best option for purchases outside of the U.S.

The Wells Fargo Reflect® Card is an exceptional option in the low APR category offering 0% intro APR for up to 21 months from account opening on purchases and qualifying balance transfers, then 15.99% – 27.99% variable APR. Here’s how it works. Once approved you will receive 0% intro APR for 18 months from account opening on purchases and qualifying balance transfers. That introductory period can also be extended for up to 3 months with on-time minimum payments during the intro period. Choosing a card like this can save you a lot of money if you need to make a big purchase but can’t pay it all off right away or if you want to consolidate your credit card debt by transferring your other balances to this card. You can avoid interest entirely if you pay your balance in full before the introductory rate ends. There is an introductory balance transfer fee (3% for 120 days from account opening, then up to 5%; min: $5) but if you are paying interest on your other card(s) the fee is likely much lower than the interest charges you are accruing each month.

Low APR cards often lack additional perks but the Wells Fargo Reflect® Card has a unique benefit that most competitors lack. If you use your card to pay your cellular telephone bill you can get up to $600 of protection on your cell phone against covered damage or theft (subject to $25 deductible). This will give you peace of mind that your cell phone is protected while saving you money by not needing to pay out of pocket for the protection through another provider. You can also keep an eye on your FICO® Credit Score with Wells Fargo Online®.
