Costco shoppers who are looking for a way to earn more cash back should look no further than the Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi. Not only do you earn 2% cash back on all purchase from Costco or Costco.com, but you will also earn 4% on eligible gas and EV charging purchases worldwide (including at Costco) for the first $7,000 spent per year and 3% back on restaurant and travel purchases worldwide.

Although this card does not offer a sign-up bonus, there is no annual fee and you won’t get hit with any foreign transaction fees when making purchases abroad. One requirement however, is you must have an active Costco membership that costs $60 per year. Once you have the Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi you can use your credit card as your membership card, so you don’t have to worry about carrying both cards in your wallet.

Cash back rewards will accumulate throughout the year and you can redeem them starting in February for rewards earned the previous year, though you will have to enter a Costco store in order to do so. Rewards can be redeemed for a certificate that can be used for merchandise at Costco or cash and any rewards that are not redeemed from February through the end of the year will be lost. While this redemption structure isn’t as flexible or straightforward as most cash back cards, the Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi is a great way to earn additional cash back on your Costco purchases and spending in top categories like gas and dining. If you are looking for a more traditional cash back card that offers more flexible redemption options, an introductory APR period, and a sign-up bonus, then it is worth checking out the Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card.
