The Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card is an exciting travel card option for those looking for premium perks that do not come with an annual fee. To start, you also have the opportunity to earn 20,000 bonus miles once you spend $500 on purchases within 3 months from account opening. This equates to $200 in travel and this is a very low spend requirement compared to competitive cards, making it easy to achieve by using your card on everyday purchases.
As for ongoing rewards, you will earn an unlimited 1.25 miles per dollar on all purchases and if you book car rentals and hotels through Capital One Travel, those purchases will qualify for 5x miles per dollar spent. This is a great setup for someone who does not want to worry about rotating categories or limits and prefers to earn a steady rate on everything.
Those seeking a 0% intro APR will be happy to hear that the Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card offers a very generous 0% intro APR for 15 months from account opening on purchases and qualifying balance transfers. After the introductory rate, the 19.99% – 29.99% (Variable) will apply. There is a 3% balance transfer fee on the amounts transferred within the first 15 months (no fee for amounts transferred at the transfer APR) but if you are paying interest on your other card(s) the fee is likely much lower than the interest charges you are accruing each month.
When it comes time to cashing in your hard-earned miles, Capital One offers several options with the most valuable being redemptions for travel purchases. You can redeem miles to cover the cost of any travel purchase made with your VentureOne card within 90 days and your miles will be worth 1 cent each. Additionally, you can redeem your miles directly in the Capital One Travel portal, use your miles to purchase gift cards or get a statement credit. Capital One continues to enhance its rewards program and now you can transfer miles to more than 15 travel loyalty programs. This is a great option that can push your mile redemption value over the 1-cent mark if you know how to navigate these travel partners and their award booking programs.
If you are interested in earning more miles per dollar and want to take your travel perks to the next level, then the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card may be a better fit for you. It does charge a $95 annual fee, but that is easily recouped with the benefits offered.
